‘Kick your shoes off…’

Bare-footed, sand, sea, golden sunrises and sunsets… Who needs a pair of shoe when this is what life is like 25 minutes off the coast of Belize. Here is my experience at Thatch Caye Resort, Belize. 

South of Belize City sits a tiny town called Dangriga; “Home of the Cultural Capital”. Although mostly a transit town for travelers, a 25 minute scenic boat ride will take you to the off Island Bungalow haven; Thatch Caye Resort.

Tucked away, with a 360 view of pristine Caribbean waters, Thatch Caye should be on every honey-mooners 101 starter kit, quick strikes for a romantic get-a-way or for anyone who is just looking to have a unique experience accompanied with pleasant hospitality.

I, myself had 3  “sleeps” here, resting my pampered head both in the Overwater Bungalow and the Overwater Villa with a sweet balcony view and a delicate hammock (I know my hammocks well as I review them. In fact, you can get more hammock reviews @ konservatory.) The experience and time spent defines completeness and contentment. If reading feeds you, do this from your balcony and listen to the waves beating below your feet in the background .

Take a walk with me around the off-Island haven… The private island is quiet, secluded with absolute almost no pressure and you can literally, just be.

Bike rides and morning walks are quite pleasing to the eyes; you can bike to lunch!… Or anywhere around ‘town’ for that matter.

Sea life is alive and vibrant; home to the second largest barrier reef in the world! Here and there, you also might bump into a few iguanas ‘roaming’ town or you can take a peep into the main dock to catch a glimpse of the eels.

A 25 minute boat ride for deep sea diving or float along the edges to get a glimpse of the wealth that sits beneath the island’s waters.

Did I somewhat forget to mention earlier that this is an All-Inclusive treat! Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner with daily happy hours makes everything better. The food is great; there’s never too much rum punch or conch ceviche.

The Bungalow experience and island life is rich off the coast. Take your shoes off grab a beer and let this  place create possibilities for beautiful memories.
