Posted In: Caribbean | Hotel | Jamaica | Luxury | Travels

A new and reimagined Sandals All-Inclusive resort just opened up in Ocho Rios, Jamaica —  please, brace yourselves. I’m more than thrilled to tell you about this one.

With this new addition, this is the 7th Sandals property in Jamaica which makes it the 3rd one for Ocho Rios, St. Ann. Located on the north coast this new escape is dubbed as ‘the most iconic resort in the heart of Ocho Rios‘ with the look, the feel, the warm welcome reminding you to ‘let life flow‘.

The Location:

Sandals Dunn’s River is located on the north coast of Jamaica. If you’re coming from major cities like Kingston and Montego Bay, your estimated time of arrival should be within 1.5hrs coming from either end relatively speaking.

If we’re thinking about the iconic Dunn’s River Falls, that too, is just an approximate 8-min drive.  This is one of Jamaica’s most visited tourist destination and one that shares the name which this new home away from home.

Checking Into Sandals Dunn’s River:

Arriving and checking into a new property has always helped me to set the tone for wherever I go. For this specific location, I opted for the Club Level which is concierge redefined — where everything is at your convenience. From the moment you arrive to the moment you have to catch your return flight or,  in my case hit the highway back to Kingston.

All that you need is done here. From restaurant reservations, to booking your spot on any one of the water sport activities and of course, your check in process as well.

Along with Club Level you have the option to either go Luxury or Butler Suite Level.

The Rooms at Sandals Dunn’s River:

The rooms at Sandals Dunn’s River reflects what you’d call when modern architecture meets simplicity.

I checked into the Club Level Jr. Suite w/ Balcony Tranquillity which comes with an ocean view. The other major room highlights were the oversized bathroom and the balcony soaking tub which is accompanied by privacy curtains. From waking up to the morning sunrises to having balcony bath time moments, at this point I  was starting to devise a plan how to stay for good.

The Design At Sandals Dunn’s River:

From the moment I first arrived, I knew that the design would warrant a category all by itself here. It is modern, creative and fresh.

From the looks of it… well, I’ll let the photos below do most of the talking.

The interior design is easy on the eyes which makes you want to stop and snap a photo the moment you get a chance to. The surroundings feature an artwork or a textured wall creating an ambiance to transcend you into a different space.

The Food At Sandals Dunn’s River:

Sandals Dunn’s River has unlimited fine dining at 12 restaurants in which only one requires a reservation; La’monde, which promises to indulge you in French cuisine. Here, you also have the option to go Greek, Italian, opt for the Sushi Bar or Latin fusion.  Or, if you prefer to have a night in, there is an in room-option available to you as well.

Alongside the dining options, there are 9 bars including swim-up bars, unlimited Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks Wines, unlimited premium liquors and to add there is a stocked bar in every room.

Let’s just say it is a just a tad bit difficult to go hungry or thirsty during your time here.
